We are delighted to welcome the newest group of bright, curious, and hard-working students to the Cincinnati Next Engineers Academy. Our newest Cohort of students have been hard at work throughout the winter. Cohort 2 students represent 23 schools in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Over the past two months, students have been diving into the engineering design process through multiple smaller design challenges in addition to their first larger challenge of the year, Spring Loaded. Over the coming weeks, teams will work to construct their elastic-powered mousetrap vehicles with the goal of having either the fastest car or longest distance traveled.
Volunteers from GE Aerospace have been critical in the early stages of this cohort’s journey! They have assisted teams in the design phase of “Spring Loaded” and shared their thoughts and work experiences during an “Engineering Talks” activity. Students were elated to ask questions about engineering, especially their experiences as engineering undergraduate students. We are excited to welcome volunteers back as Design Challenge Panelists for our upcoming public presentations.
We are excited to see this group of students continue to learn and grow over the next few years in Engineering Academy!
