Greenville held its first volunteer training session earlier this week to prepare GE volunteers for Engineering Discovery activities. Representatives from FHI 360 and Clemson PEER & WISE introduced new volunteers to Next Engineers. The Clemson team provided logistics for the first round of Discovery activities, set to take place Friday, October 22, in local schools.
Since the training was in person, trainers were able to conduct and model youth development activities while sharing practices and concepts of positive youth development and communicating with youth. Volunteers also learned about resources available to volunteers following the training.
In Greenville, about 25 volunteers participated in a two hour training session. There will be many more to come, in Greenville and around the world!
