The time has come to apply for the summer experience of a lifetime!
GE Next Engineers Camp applications are now open for current 8th and 9th grade students in the Greater Cincinnati area. Camps are an engaging and holistic way for students to apply the engineering design process to projects that are not only fun, but real-world applicable as well. Students are provided with breakfast and lunch, transportation assistance via Metro bus passes are available to anyone living in a ten-mile radius of the camp location.
This year, we are offering two different camps to allow students to cater their camp experience to their interests. Week one option takes place at UC Uptown West campus and will focus on structural engineering. At the end of the week, each cooperative team must create a piece of functional furniture using paper. Week two, which will be held at UC Blue Ash, will focus on biomedical engineering. In that camp, students will work with the high school seniors of our Academy program to create a prosthetic leg that must be effective AND comfortable for 20 feet.
Applications are accepted through March 31st and students will be notified of their acceptance status on April 15th. While we love our former campers, priority will be given to new participants. Read How to Apply and visit the Cincinnati page for more details.
